Derek Yan is the Founder and CEO of Linx Tennis. Derek is responsible for business planning, program development, peer communications, marketing strategies, and member recruitment at Linx.

Linx was established in March 2016 as Derek was looking for tennis partners in his neighborhood to develop hitting practice sessions based on his own schedules. After broadcasting his idea in local online communities, he got more responses than expected with a variety of skill sets and age groups. While seeking his own tennis buddies around his level, Derek has also helped others find theirs and coordinated training sessions for those junior players. The first skill assessment lasted two days at public tennis courts in a local middle school with 43 junior players participating. Today, Linx has thousands of members with seven training groups by skill levels.

Derek currently lives with his family in Maryland and studies at Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, Maryland.
